U.S. Constitution Day Poster Contest
Constitutionfacts.com and the GIC (Government Information for Children - ALA GODORT) are national sponsors of the Thirteenth Annual U.S. Constitution Day Poster Contest for students, an international contest promoted exclusively through the Internet.
To compete, the contest invites K-12 entrants (including homeschoolers) to celebrate Constitution Day (Sept. 17) by designing a poster showing how they benefited from the freedoms embodied in the U.S. Constitution.
Entries must be postmarked by October 1, 2022. The first 100 entrants receive a free pocket constitution book from constitutionfacts.com, with the contest winners receiving additional prizes! To learn more, download the Poster Design Contest entry form.

Scholastic Art & Writing Awards
Alliance for Young Artists & Writers
Show off your artistic talents for the chance to win acclaim and cash for education from the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. Students should enter "work that demonstrates originality, technical skill, and the emergence of a personal voice or vision" in one of 29 art and writing categories.
Entries usually open in September. The fee for entering is $7 per entry or $25 per portfolio. Fee waivers are available for those who can demonstrate financial need.
The art contest is open to "public, private, or home-school students in the U.S., Canada, or American schools abroad enrolled in grades 7–12". Winners are selected on the basis of originality, technical skill, and the emergence of a personal vision or voice.
The winners will receive prizes that include publication, exhibition, and educational scholarships worth up to $10,000. Here is the link for the main website.

International Festival of Owls Student Art Contest
This owl art contest started around 2004 as a coloring contest to involve local young people in the Festival of Owls. Over the years it has grown into a highly competitive international art competition with more than 4,444 entries from 37 countries in 2019!
Entries must be mailed through snail mail and received by January 15, 2023.

Saving Endangered Species Youth Art Contest
The Endangered Species Coalition (ESC) is pleased to announce our 2022 Saving Endangered Species Youth Art Contest, which is open to K-12 grade students--residing in the U.S.–including those who are homeschooled or belong to a youth/art program. The contest is an integral part of the 16th annual Endangered Species Day, May 21st, 2023.
These are the primary goals of the Saving Endangered Species Youth Art Contest:
-Encouraging and inspiring youth to creatively express animal and plant diversity;
-Spotlighting the incredible skill and talent of youth artists and providing a space for young people to express the importance of wildlife through visual art;
-Growing awareness of the rich diversity of species in the United States or US Territories, especially species protected or recovered by the Endangered Species Act;

Lower Shore Addiction Awareness Art Competition
Lower Shore students in grades 6 through 12 may submit one piece of fine art in any media including painting, drawing, collage, mixed media, photography, sculpture or video. Works must have opioid or other drug and/or alcohol addiction awareness as the subject matter. An emphasis on hope for/maintaining recovery is encouraged. Submissions must be no larger than 28 x 28 inches and weigh no more than 10 pounds. Video submissions must be provided on a USB.
This competition is made possible by support from the Maryland Opioid Operational Command Center, and the Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset, and Dorchester County Health Departments. For entry forms and the full list of rules, please visit www.uwles.org/art.

People know distracted driving is dangerous, but they do it anyway. As an applicant you have one clear mission: create a PSA to encourage your friends to avoid distracted driving, specifically using your phone while driving. Whether it’s sending a text, commenting on a photo, or messaging your friends in your favorite app, it’s never ok to message while driving. Together, we can spread the word and help keep our roads safer.
